The Great Debate: Upper Cabinets vs Open Shelving

One of the most important things to consider when designing your kitchen is how you like to live in your space.  It’s all fine and dandy to make something look beautiful but if it doesn’t function they way you live in your space then the formula doesn’t work.   For us looking at the new space and making it much more open and airy we came to the conclusion that the best look would be to skip the upper cabinets and have it more open.  Actually we are doing just two upper cabinets; one on each end!

Here’s some inspiration, in favour of no upper cabinets, if you are thinking about this for your own kitchen renovation!

Takeaway Tip: When considering open shelving; remember things are in the open and if your not into keeping things somewhat orderly and tidy then maybe not the way to go. Everything’s on display make it functional and uncluttered for the best results!

So what do you think?  Could you live with open shelving in your kitchen?
